Its finals week!!! Definitely not as fun-filled as other weeks, but here is a breakdown:
Monday, October 15th, 2018
Monday we went to Museo Novecento in our Arts and Places class which was pretty interesting. I have to admit, it definitely not as interesting as some of the other museums we have been to in Florence. One discussion we had in this class related to the fact that Florence is extremely dedicated to preserving the past and seems to overlook the importance of modern art as well. The emptiness of this museum attested to that. After classes we went to the grocery store and spent the evening studying in our apartment.
After classes, we literally just studied. ALL NIGHT.
BORING
Tuesday, October 16th, 2018
Last day of classes!! Today we went to Manufactura Tabachi, an old Tobacco factory that is now used by contemporary artists. We heard from 6 young artists who are in the middle of their residencies and they explained the type of work they do and the meaning behind it. They were some badass young artists... GOALS!
After class we got some gelato and then studied our butts off for ONE MORE NIGHT!!!

"it happens"
Final exams!!! After our first exam, Michaela and I went to the central market and got a cannoli while waiting for our second. After our second exam we got a drink, pizza, and my favorite, penne alla vodka to celebrate!! Then, we went back to our apartment and I took a NAP!!! It was very much needed.

Today Michaela and I slept in and worked on planning last minute details of our trip during intersession! Now that our first set of classes are over we have a 12 day break until the next classes start! WOHOO!! After planning, we hiked up to Michelangelo's point to get a beautiful panoramic view of Florence, then walked around a bit and went to the Magnum store and got to make our own ice cream bars! Mine was chocolate ice cream with a milk chocolate dip and brownie bites, m&m's, rose petals (idk what came over me -- they were pretty), and a dark chocolate drizzle! It was delicious! Tomorrow we leave for an adventure to Naples, Capri, and Rome!
